1994 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA – Group 5)

The qualification matches for Group 5 of the European zone of the 1994 FIFA World Cup qualification tournament took place between May 1992 and November 1993.

Group 5 consisted of 6 of the 39 teams entered into the European zone:[1] Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Luxembourg, Russia, and Yugoslavia. In October 1992, however, after their away game against Iceland and home game with Russia were both postponed, FR Yugoslavia was suspended by FIFA as a result of the United Nations sanctions against that country stemming from the Yugoslav wars. The remaining 5 teams competed on a home-and-away basis for 2 of the 12 spots in the final tournament allocated to the European zone, with the group's winner and runner-up claiming those spots.
